Photographing Hotboysly!

When someone approaches me to be his or her photographer no matter what the assignment I’m always ready for that certain twist to come visit me once again.  You see, for me each photo shoot seems to have a life and character of it’s own and actually tells me when and where those twist will take place.  So, when it was time to photograph this Awesome 2008 Carbon and black pearl turbo civic Si, which is currently making 500+ horses to the wheels, (may I add possessing the ability to eat quite a few unsuspecting exotics for lunch!)… it was time to twist the night away!

Fast forward:  Well, after a few trips of the shutter I could feel it was time to change up the flavor.  Hmmmm…Like a culinary expert test tasting ones food in the pursuit of wowing their perspective high-class patrons and then it hits me!  Why not get my client for the day, Robert aka Hotboysly to jump through the air!  Looking with a puzzled but willing look on his face he then asks me, “you want me to do what?!!”  Hahahaa and boy did he!  As the shutter tripped I was bowled over in amazement as he soared into the air as if he was Jordan himself!  AMAZING!  All I could say was “do that again!”   The rest was creative history.

Well, below I have posted a few photographic delectables for your viewing pleasure.

Hotboysly being a bit of a shutterbug himself.

My only wish is that you find my work easy on the eyes and I look forward to posting photos from my next photo shoot possibly containing you!

Jack & Jill of America Portrait Session in Corona, Ca

During this past Holiday Season I was given a great opportunity to create family and individual portraits for the Jack and Jill of America Foundation in Corona, California.  The focus of the organization is to provide constructive educational, cultural, civic, recreation, social and service programs for children, plus much much much more!

Well, for this particular evening session I brought along my trusty Canon 5D, Elenchrom soft boxes among other goodies and had a blast!  The youngsters were fun loving and getting them to be themselves was truly not a problem...see below!!  Having awesome parents may have a little something to do with the kids being as great as they were....who knew!?  lol

Crunch time, I only had a small window to work with but as always everything just work out so nicely.  Now, for the members and clients please go to the "Proof" section on my main website which can easily be found by clicking the ClementBPhotography Title at the top of the blog!

Above:   They're passionate about their cause!  May I present the main organizers for Corona Chapter of the  Jack and Jill Event of 2010!

Above:   Here you can see just how nice the Elenchrom soft boxes really gave off such a beautiful light.  All the families that attended were a joy to photograph from large to small.

Above:  As stated the little ones were loving and full of energy!  There was no problem getting them to add their own flare to the photos, gotta love baby super stars!

Ok, this wraps up this session's post and I will have so much to more share in the very near future.

By the way,  a few learning photographers have written in and that's awesome!  So my thoughts are to either start posting their questions or I ask that a few of you non-shy photo enthusiast post so others can read the answers or assist me with questions.  It's always nice to chat and share techniques and ideas. And as for the visiting or potential clients please do not be shy, you can post as well!

Warp Drive Kid's ZX12-12R Project

This past weekend, it was all about me time!  I wanted to take a few photos of my motorcycle that I had just finished putting together and still working on it.  So, as always it was time to break out the lights, Cameras and a model to boot!

The bike is a “04” Kawasaki ZX-12R and boy do I love this thing!  A good friend of mine Martin or Martin’s Auto Body in Chino, CA gave the bike a one of kind magic mix of Super Black with a blue pearl and threw in some nice fine crushed glass for good measure.  Don, a great machinist and friend of mine designed and created all the parts in order to mate a ZX-10R swing arm on to the bike as well!  This was all done out of friendship, so I will deem the project priceless!  There’s more but this is a photography blog.  So gear heads drop me a line or two if you would like to know more!

As for the model; as you all know and now have become familiar with it’s none other than Champion aka Champ!   Another big part of my life for sure and what a model he’s becoming.  He’s only Six months young and can “stay” with the best of em!

Well, below is the finished product photographed in the day around 5 or 6 PM…no exact time for this one, I just was having fun. I used two soft boxes on left and one right and adjusted ratio as I went along.  Elenchrom are the strobes of choice for this photo and I love the quality of light they give.  I also used my Canon 5d and a 70-200mm lens all triggered by Elenchrom Sky Port wireless.  Usually my style of photographing is to let the events unfold as they may, but I enjoyed placing a few objects and tinkering a bit.  Experimentation is key once you have a direction and just enjoying yourself.

To all of my subscribers enjoy the photograph, ask questions and there will be more posts more often from now on…Yes, I’m back! lol

A Good Cause Needs Mentioning!

I was going to do a nice little write up on the happenings that took place at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in Los Angeles California this past Friday, April 30th, 2010.  But!  I feel it’s best to turn your attention towards the blog of Mr. Wayne Pacelle, President of the Humane Society of the US!

Please take a moment to check it out and if you can help in any way possible please do!  And as you know I love hearing feedback from everyone, good or bad!  Bring it on!

Please enjoy the photos and write up!

Road Trip Up North! PT1

So, Joseph (videographer extraordinaire) and I (photographer) had an assignment to cover up north from our fair little City of Los Angeles.  Hence, I thought I would share some of the photos taken from our exciting trip.  This post will be broken down into a few parts so that you (The Reader) may enjoy this trip a little at a time...don't ya love when I do that?

So, up the Grapevine we trekked and made a little stop along the way for gas and to pay a visit to none other than Casa de Fruta!  I mean this place had some of everything, it was truly a cornucopia of fruits, vegies, spices and sauces!  Check out the photos below and you'll see what I mean!

This photo was taken right at the pumps where we re-fueled...windows to one's soul.

This little piece of art was in the same parking area...I like for some reason.

On the way to gas station we noticed this little specialty shop appropriately named Case de Fruta! Yum!

The Fruta Truck was designed with fruits in mind, si?

Chili and garlic!

Yes, I was fascinated by this fruit truck!  This truck even had little cute sayings on it like....Dog is man's best friend because they practice the same hygiene!  Hmmm ... I wonder who added that little gem?

Okkkkkkk? So Joseph was looking for something in particular...he says " I know it's gotta be around here", serious as can be.

Tangy Apricot Chipotle Sauce!!!  Oh, I have that all that time....NOT! LOL  But he says it's good for grilling marinade on fish and meats!  Jo knows his foods and spices!

One of my Faves, Pistachios!!

Fudge!

They Casa de Fruta had a great selection of fruits and spices, stuff I have never scene before.  If you're headed up north, this is one place ya gotta stop!

And of course one outside, there was no stopping Joseph from eating some of the delectables...not even a sign precariously placed!

Well, this concludes part one of Joseph's and I road trip up north....I'll be posting more in a few days of actual San Francisco!  What a place, it's like Disney Land for photographers!  Wonderful people and lovely places to share and have fun....but of course we were working as well.

Debora & Chris's Wedding Day

So much is going on, but I finally have a chance to share some photographs with you and there will be more to follow!

Two of the most sweetest people on earth honored me with an opportunity to photograph their wedding day and a special day it was!   Many a time a wedding day only requires two people in love and the Great Reverend C. Bolge, Pastoring out of Long Beach, CA to carry out the vows.  He's a God fearing man with a heart of gold and I should know........ that's my Dad!

Well, please enjoy the photos and if there are any questions of any kind or feed back it's all welcomed!

Meet The Champ

I finally got a chance to visit a good friend of mine and his lovely wife.  Ya know I had to take a few shots of a pup lovingly named Champ!   He's an awesome little fella and the breeders still have a few more beautiful Boxers, (as of this posting that is)!  Yes, Boxers!  Hence the name Champ!   I've had a few dogs in my life and there's nothing like being around puppies!  They fit into your hand like a small tennis ball, yet this tennis ball will lick ya and love you right from the start!  Although they're eyes are closed at this stage of the game, they can sense good energy!

Please enjoy a few photographs I had the pleasure of taking and maybe one day I'll be photographing you and your pup or pet soon!

He had yet to open his eyes!  Only a few weeks old and looking like a little pound puppy!

I hear that his eyes are now open.......shall I go back???  Stay tuned!!!

Miriam & Andre

Hello!  Well, today I'm showcasing The Wedding of Miriam and Andre, performed at a beautiful little Church lovingly named Cherry Avenue Church of God, located in Long Beach California.  I can't say enough on how much I love photographing Weddings!  No matter the size or how mild to flamboyant a wedding may be, bottom line is it's all about being around good friends, family and people that are truly in love such as these two little love birds!

Sometimes as you may have noticed from previous posts I would do some little special set up shot of the rings. But this time I got such a kick out of the ring boxes that I just had to post them up!  Very cute, I love the wood and the lights!  So, please enjoy the shots and comment if you would like, I'd love to hear what my potential clients and visitors to the site may have to say!  Constructive criticism can only make me better!!!

May I substantiate my absence by sharing a few photographs of a beautiful Bride and Groom, Tiffany and Miles and their Wedding Day!  In addition,  I will take this time to say that it was truly a great experience photographing the both of you and may God continue to smile upon you.  As a matter of fact, please keep the smiles coming our way as well!!!

My Website's Current Opening Photo

Since I’ve posted this Photo of Jorma and Melissa, I’ve been receiving compliments and a few emails from visitors wondering who they are and where was it taken.

I too am a fan of this photograph which shows a very loving couple enjoying what so many humans and other species have desired for ages ….. true love!   It’s a seriously awesome feeling when you’re in love and there’s actually another person feeling the same way towards you at that very moment! (Heaven forbid it stays that way!)  And that’s what this photos says to me……. We’re in LOVE and I don't care who knows it!

This photo was actually taken while the wedded couples of the day and the to be wedded couples of the next day were being introduced to the entire crowed at a luau presented by Pleasant Holidays: Royal Lahaina Resort in Maui.  Melissa and Jorma had just gotten married that day and were enjoying the evening with their wedding party.  They sat at the next table right across from us and they seem to be having such a great time.  For some reason it hit me to photograph them as they stood up and to share my shots….not sure why.  I guess positive energy breeds positive energy?!   And this was one of those moments that screams to me, HEY!  This is why photography is so awesome! You get to capture a once in a lifetime shot, which in a split second it's gone!  Sure this shot can be done by reenactment but it will never carry the same genuine energy!  Awesome!  Not that I managed to take this shot but it’s just an awesome feeling knowing that I’m able to share this shot with them!

I emailed the photograph to Jorma and Melissa and......well, instead of me expressing their thoughts on the photograph maybe, just maybe they'll post a comment!  Hopefully I may have the honor of photographing their One Year Anniversary! Hint..hint!!

We had a serious blast in Hawaii and I’ll be posting more photos of the Luau tomorrow to show ya!
